Pentecost Sunday
This Sunday, May 23, is Pentecost Sunday, when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit.  Three young people
(Bentleigh Alvarez, Eli Hesse, and Charlie Juergens) have been meeting and studying with Pastor Lou about the Lord's Supper over the past several weeks.  On Sunday they will receive their first communion and be gifted a personal Bible from the congregation.  *Wear red* (or another flame color) for fun.  Cookie and cupcake reception following the service.

Connections Magazine
New issue is here!  Pick up a copy from the table by the kitchen -- Pastor Lou has written another article in this issue, if that interests you -- Read, keep, return, or share!

Crossroads Baby Bottle Fundraiser
Although many from Living Word participate in this throughout the year, the Crossroads Baby Bottle Fundraiser *officially* takes place between Mother's Day (May 9) and Father's Day (June 20) each year.  If you'd like to participate at this time or with an extra donation, baby bottles are on the table in the fellowship hall and we will hunt up some more this week.  Fill one with spare change, bills, or a check, and return it to the church or to Crossroads on/before June 20.  There is also a "text to give" option:  509-761-6420.  ** Thank you for the generous donations already given.**

2021 Graduates
Chance C -- will graduate from Warden High School on June 11, 2021, and from Big Ben Community College with an Associate of Arts degree.  He will attend Walla Walla Community College in the fall, where he will play baseball on partial scholarship.

Dylan O -- headed to ROTC camp at Ft. Knox, KY on May 23 for approx. 6 weeks.

As a member congregation, Living Word is eligible to send a delegation of up to 5 people (18+) to the Annual Lutherhaven Ministries Corporation Meeting on Sunday, August 22.  The congregation will receive one vote on all matters up for ballot at the meeting.  They are seeking nominations for 1-3 board members.  If serving in this manner (as a delegate to the meeting, or as a possible board member) is of interest to you, please contact Pastor Lou before June 14.  We can forward the complete Lutherhaven email with all the information to help your consideration.
